I hold an MFA in Creative Writing and Literature from Stony Brook University. I write fiction, nonfiction, poetry, plays. A screenplay's in the works.

I teach creative writing to a diverse group of middle and high schoolers through the Young American Writers Project (YAWP). I also teach first-year composition to the college crowd. On the scholarly front, I'm especially interested in personal narrative and its implications for non-native English speakers.

I also work as a freelance editor, sharpening sentences, reshaping paragraphs, and chopping pages. Hey, sometimes it's gotta to happen.

You should know that as a longtime gymnast and now coach, gymnastics tends to creep into my writing, my philosophy, and my movements.
